The only thing we can really count on in the world today is that things aren’t going to stay the same for very long. Change occurs often and rapidly. How do we continuously adapt to these changing conditions? Change expert William Bridges has stated: “Organizations are great at introducing change, but horrible at managing transition.” Transition is the psychological reorientation that employees experience whenever they discover that there is another workplace change that they must adjust to. Each one of these events presents a set of real world needs that organizational leaders must understand and empathize with if the desired levels of performance and execution are ever going to happen.
This session introduces best practices for transitioning from the current status quo to a future desired state for the organization. Each phase of transition from vision, to alignment, to training, allocating resources, and ensuring accountability and execution will be discussed with an emphasis on how to best adapt to each phase of managing change and transition.
