The Five Behaviors of Cohesive Teams

When Patrick Lencioni wrote: “The 5 Dysfunctions of Teams”, he introduced the world to a set of behaviors that consistently erode team performance. The first dysfunction of low trust is quickly followed by the fear of sharing important ideas, which leads to a lack of commitment, resulting in the dysfunction of no accountability, ultimately producing sub-optimal results. The flip side of this is a set of five behaviors that lead to cohesion and desired results.

This session explores the five behaviors of vulnerable trust, productive conflict, mutual commitment, shared accountability, and collective results that are necessary to build cohesive, high performing teams. Beginning with trust building, your team members will build and strengthen trust by exploring individual preferences, priorities and strengths. We will then engage in learning activities that enable us to manage constructive conflict, reach mutual agreements, practice peer-to-peer accountability, and focus on team results. Each learning activity will help team members effectively achieve team cohesiveness.
